In a battle of UFC Hall of Fame legends, "The Hammer" got nailed by "The Natural," as Randy Couture beat up and then choked out Mark Coleman, with referee Steve Mazzagatti stopping the contest 69 seconds into round two.
While Couture insists he is now competing in the Light Heavyweight Division, the possibility of a big money rematch with presently-sidelined UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar still looms as a real temptation for the future. The timeless Couture, 46 years old, had seemingly no trouble with the 45 year old Coleman.
"I'm having a blast," Couture told Joe Rogan in the Octagon after the fight, "I feel like I'm improving each and every time I get out here. This is my third fight in seven months, and it feels good to be so active."
Coleman, meanwhile, ended up in a profanity-laced shouting match with Tito Ortiz, who was heckling him from ringside.
